How does the free staff bank work?
Running your own bank costs nothing. You post shifts to your own team, manage availability and keep your reliability data. There is no monthly platform fee for the workforce side. You only pay when Salstead actively sources and fills a shift your own staff could not cover.
What is the fill fee?
When you cannot cover a shift from your own bank, Salstead matches a vetted PAYE worker to it. You pay a transparent fill fee on those filled shifts only. There are no hidden agency margins and no charge for the shifts your own team already covers.
What does the £4.50 per resident cover?
The full care records platform: care plans and eMAR, CQC evidence, incidents, safeguarding, complaints, audits, policies and resident income billing. It is £4.50 per resident per month plus VAT, with unlimited staff and family seats. A 40-resident home is £180 a month plus VAT.
Are there any hidden costs?
No setup fee and no per-seat charge. On the workforce side the standard PAYE pass-through (employer NI, pension, holiday pay) is always itemised on every invoice, never buried in a margin.
Do I need everything at once?
No. Many operators start with the free staff bank, then add care records when they are ready. You can run the workforce side on its own, the care records side on its own, or both together.
How long does it take to get started?
The staff bank can be live within days. Care records typically go live in a few weeks, and the Migration Assistant pulls existing worker and compliance data across from spreadsheets or your previous system.
