NHS DSCR: assurance in progress

Architected to the NHS DSCR standards.

Salstead is built from the ground up to the NHS Digital Social Care Records standards, person-centred records in the PRSB information models, SNOMED CT coding, portable interoperable exports, and a security posture that is published, not assumed.

Salstead is not yet listed on the NHS DSCR Assured Supplier list. We describe the platform as architected to the standards, with assurance in progress, and never claim to be assured or certified until that listing is granted.

The difference

The incumbents digitised the care plan. Salstead runs the whole service.

Care records, staffing and smart attendance, safeguarding and incidents, complaints, meetings and minutes, video with transcription, assets and e-invoicing: native, on one data model, one login, one audit trail. The standards below aren't a bolt-on module; they're how the platform is built.

How it's built

Six pillars, to the standard

Person-centred records

PRSB About Me (v2.01) captures the person's own words across seven coded sections, on every resident record, written by or with them.

Interoperability

A portable, standards-aligned resident summary (demographics plus About Me with its SNOMED CT codes), exportable today, FHIR-aligned for GP Connect.

Security & data protection

Row-level security on every table, AES-256-GCM application-layer encryption for sensitive fields, server-side role enforcement, exact-match route guards.

Clinical safety

A DCB0129 hazard log and clinical safety case are prepared, ready for a named Clinical Safety Officer to own and sign off.

Information governance

Mapped to the National Data Guardian's ten data-security standards, structured for a Data Security & Protection Toolkit submission.

Reliability

Region-co-located compute and database, a live canary endpoint, error boundaries, and continuous verification on every release.

Interoperability, shipping today

Coded, portable, and yours

Every resident record can be exported as a standards-aligned summary: person demographics plus the PRSB About Me, each section carrying its fixed SNOMED CT concept. It's the data-portability and “exit” capability regulators expect, and the exact shape GP Connect maps onto FHIR when NHS onboarding is complete.

  • PRSB About Me v2.01: 7 sections, coded to SNOMED CT
  • One-click portable export from the resident record
  • No lock-in: your data leaves in an open, documented format
  • FHIR-aligned foundation for GP Connect and the NHS Spine

The 2026 data standard

Built for MODS (DAPB4102)

From 1 July 2026 every assured Digital Social Care Record must meet the Minimum Operational Data Standard: a consistent baseline of care data across nine groups. Salstead records all nine today, and a live conformance view shows providers exactly how completely their records are populated.

Person details and demographics
Communication preferences
About me and preferences
Care needs and assessments
Care and support plans
Medication
Risks
Observations and outcomes
Contacts and relationships

All nine groups are captured today; three are being structured to the full MODS shape. We never claim MODS certification or NHS assured status until it is formally granted.

Modern software, built to the standard.

See the whole platform side-by-side with Access, Person Centred Software and Nourish, or book a short walkthrough and we'll show you the record, the export, and the security model.
